Salustiano García
Salustiano, a Sevillian artist with an international profile, has exhibited his work in prominent museums, galleries, and art fairs around the world, including the Frost Museum in Miami, the Nobel Museum in Stockholm, ARCO Madrid, and Art Basel. His work has had a strong presence in countries such as the United States, Germany, South Korea, Switzerland, and Spain, and he continues to expand his schedule with new projects in cities like Basel, New York, Berlin, and Mexico City.
His work has been widely covered by international media, appearing on covers and in articles of magazines such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, GQ, AD, Elle, and The New York Times. He has also been interviewed by networks such as CNN and France’s LCI.
Additionally, his paintings have been used by publishers and record labels, and personalities like former Spanish minister Ángel Gabilondo have illustrated their books with them.
Salustiano has collaborated with prestigious charitable institutions, including the Dalai Lama Foundation, Woman Together, and the Cisneros Foundation, participating in international charity exhibitions. His work Reincarnation served as the official image for the exhibition The Missing Peace, alongside artists such as Marina Abramovic and Anish Kapoor, earning praise from figures like the Dalai Lama, Sharon Stone, and David Lynch.
Other cultural and political figures also have Salustiano’s works in their collections. His compelling concept of incredible beauty has captivated prominent collectors, including William Mack, President of the Guggenheim Museum Foundation in New York; Sir Niall Fitzgerald, Chairman of the British Museum and President of Reuters; Mr. Guido Westerwelle, former German Foreign Minister; Pérez Simón; Ralph Burnet; the Dalai Lama; and Barbra Streisand, among others.
Salustiano believes that his international presence is the result of a comprehensive artistic, economic, and cultural process, and it represents an example of how innovation and reinvention can ensure success in contemporary art.
“Beautiful, disturbing, and profound. This is the painting of this Spaniard circulating in galleries and art fairs around the world, giving a twist to the tradition of portraiture with red images where he merges Renaissance rigor with mathematical perfection.” This is how American journalist Sandra Lodos describes Salustiano’s work.
