Two skulls facing each other, two opposing narratives. In this piece, Álex Jul plays with the aesthetics of color and the symbolism of death to speak, perhaps, of polarization, ideologies, or an empty hedonism reflected in the repetition of the word party. Blue and red—colors that evoke not only festivity, but also politics, opposition, division. The fragmented, almost illegible title reinforces that sense of distortion: is it a celebration or a confrontation? A party or a critique? The skulls, intervened with aggressive brushstrokes and dripping paint that simulate decay or artifice, return to us a vibrant image, loaded with intention. A work that turns the decorative into discourse, and festivity into reflection.
