This is a triptych created using encaustic, a painting technique that employs wax as a binder. The work consists of three rectangular panels framed in black and arranged horizontally on a natural stone wall, which enhances the material quality of the piece.
The central panel features a serene face with classical features, eyes closed and a calm expression, framed by curved shapes that evoke folds or flowing currents. The two side panels display abstract compositions made up of undulating, overlapping volumes in various shades of blue, with subtle earthy tones that add depth and contrast.
The visual continuity among the three panels suggests a fluid connection between the parts, unifying the whole both formally and chromatically. The texture—characteristic of encaustic—adds a tactile quality and subtle vibration to the surface, creating plays of light and shadow that enrich the viewer's visual experience.
