The iconography of Alisa's bodies—ostensibly aesthetic and "created"—dates back to the sketches and drawings of ancient masters in the margins of manuscripts. But it is precisely this quality of "sketch" that represents a pure form of "becoming" for the artist, allowing her to employ the expressive means of abstract painting in an unlikely combination of classical drawing and expressionist dripping. The energy of the interaction of the bodies is embodied in color, revealing parallels with Yves Klein's performances, but substituting his monochromes with a heterogeneous diversity of contrasting color combinations, such as arterial pink or venous red with softer shades of blue or green.
