In Desvelo, the artist explores the human face as a territory in constant transformation, traversed by memory, dreams, and wakefulness. Each piece in the series presents a partially revealed visage, veiled by translucent layers that neither fully conceal nor entirely expose. These layers—rough textures, white glazes, and deliberately fragmented gestures—evoke the tension between what is visible and what is hidden, between what is spoken and what remains silent.
The faces in Desvelo are not portraits in the classical sense, but suspended presences within an emotional space. Their fixed gazes, restrained expressions, and melancholic atmosphere speak of a fractured, diffuse identity in the process of being unveiled. The repeated facial structure, subtly altered in each work, reinforces a sense of searching, of insistence—desvelo as both an emotional and existential state.
Rather than depicting a face, this series invites us to contemplate the very act of seeing: to look inward, to look through, to look with eyes wide open in the middle of darkness.
