The magnetism of this work lies in its radical simplicity and the striking contrast of its core. The eye is inevitably drawn to the central red circle, which seems to float or vibrate over the deep black square that contains it, generating an optical effect of expansion and contraction.
This geometric heart is disciplined by a series of concentric frames: an ochre-yellow border that adds warmth, and an outer structure in pale tones that anchors the composition to its support.
